How to Utilize Video Pins


Welcome back to the Kordial Media blog! This week, I wanted to talk about how to use video pins.

I am LOVING them! Why? In some cases, they can help boost impressions only, which is still a great thing. In other cases, they can help boost not only impressions, but traffic too. Keep in mind as well that if your impressions increase, it helps all your other pins go viral too.

How long should a video pin be?

A video pin should ideally be between 10 seconds and 1 minute. However, a 5 minute video is okay too. Avoid anything longer than 5 minutes. Additionally, those with text tend to perform better than if they only had sound and no text at all. You can add closed captions to your videos to help boost clicks too.


How many video pins should I create weekly?

You should create at least 1 video pin for every blog post you publish. If you can upload more than that, then by all means, go ahead. Just don’t over do it by creating more than 15 video pins weekly.

How do I schedule them in Tailwind?

Tailwind claims to be able to share video pins as well as regular pins. However, that has not been the case for me and clients. Right now, I am utilizing them for the Pinterest platform itself only. I don’t bother to schedule them because they don’t publish correctly thereafter.

How do I create QUICK video pins? is my go-to (as I’ve mentioned many times before). I utilize the Canva video elements in order to create my video pins. I simply add one little video element to my graphic, download the graphic as a video and voila, a simple and quick video pin is created.

Can I recycle my IGTV’s, YouTube Videos, IG stories, Tik Toks and Reels?

HELL YA! Recycle it all!! Just make sure to add a link to a blog post that relates to the video you are publishing on Pinterest.
