Winning Combination

What’s really interesting to know before we really do get into the nitty gritty is that there are three elements to an extremely winning Pinterest strategy that does allow you to reach a 10 million monthly views. The first is your relationship with Pinterest. Sometimes accounts are just not lucky and don’t reach any rankings in the algorithm for some reason. I don’t know why, but you do need to have that good relationship with Pinterest. That’s not in my hands as the Pinterest marketer and that’s not in the client’s hands either.

The second element is obviously my strategy with SEO. My responsibility as a Pinterest manager is to really implement a great SEO strategy.

The third element to a winning combination on Pinterest to reach the 10 million monthly views is actually the content and the content creators commitment to creating quality content, consistent content, and frequent content.

Pinterest Niche

It all starts with a popular Pinterest niche: home decor. Especially at the height of the pandemic, home decor was getting searches through the roof. Really because of the fact that the searches for home decor related content was astronomically high on Pinterest, and that my client is in the home decor niche, their content really got a chance to fly significantly during this time. That being said, before they even hired me to implement my Pinterest strategy, their content was already getting like 700,000 monthly views with no SEO implementation and nothing of the sort. That means they had really great content to begin with, which is really key over here.

Quality Content

The second aspect of succeeding on Pinterest and breaching that 10 million monthly views is creating images and shooting photography that is not only extremely inspiring, but that’s beautiful, that’s consistent, that’s aesthetic. One thing to note about their content is that all of our images have the exact same vibe. They are all extremely inspiring. They also capture spaces in a way that the majority of Pinterest users looking at home decor would enjoy.

Their style of home decor is very modern. It’s full of neutral tones and whites and beiges, and very modern farmhouse feel, with a bit more modern than farmhouse. The fact that they are creating content that is so aesthetically beautiful, that’s super consistent in their look, so anytime a picture would come across a user’s account, they would know that that is that brand’s picture.

That’s how consistent their look and feel is. The fact that it’s consistent, the fact that their images are a style of home decor that’s very popular right now, has helped contribute to reaching that 10 million monthly views on their Pinterest account.

Publish Fresh Content

Pinterest wants fresh content. To get fresh content, it starts with the amount of blog posts that you publish every single week. They’re really great at making sure that they’re publishing at least three new blog posts very single week, up to five even. Sometimes, some weeks they are posting every single day and then some weeks they tone it back down to about three. At the end of the day, there’s always fresh new content for myself to Pin, there are new blog posts for their readers to devour and take a look at, and it feeds into exactly what the Pinterest algorithm wants from their creators, and that is new content consistently over time.

Never Repurpose Images

They are always using new images and are always capturing their space in a different light, in a different way. They also capture their space to talk about different topics regarding home decor. They’re not only talking about how to style certain things. They are talking about how to style multiple different things. They adapt their content to seasons as well. My point is, is that they’re always shooting their space and they’re always shooting it frequently for their new blog posts. I’m not repurposing old images, using stock images or even using somebody else’s images. They are original images. They’re fresh because they’re consistently being published all the time, like weekly, and they’re consistently inspiring.

A Solid Pinterest SEO Strategy

It is my responsibility is to implement the right SEO, the right keywords for their business on their profile and on their Pins in order to level up their strategy. As soon as we, added the right SEO, the right keywords across their entire profile, their monthly views jumped to well over a million to 2 million. Then once we started Pinning consistently and every single Pin had a keyword rich description that was read in natural language.

Because we implemented amazing Pin descriptions like that as well, that leveled up the strategy even further and brought them up to like that 4 million, 5 million, 6 million monthly views.

Sync Shopify Catalog to Pinterest

Once you do that, if you have a store, maybe you don’t have a store, but let’s say you do have a store with great products that are related to your niche. They sell prints, so that’s the product related to their niche. Once you sync your Shopify store with the Pinterest app and then automatically populates your catalog of products on your Pinterest page, and then a board populates with all of your products in it that people can shop and find in rankings as well. Those Pins, they also feed your monthly views and they can help get you additional sales completely organically and for free.

Run Pinterest Campaigns

There’s no secret, we’re 2021, if you want to grow on Pinterest, you need to start running campaigns as well. They want you to pay to play and what’s a massive advantage about paid campaigns on Pinterest is that they really do also help all of your organic Pins and your organic traffic too.

The fact that we’re running Pinterest campaigns, have the Shopify catalog, we’re pinning consistently and there’s amazing SEO is making them reach that 10 million monthly views on Pinterest consistently every single month.

It’s completely achievable. You just need the right formula for your business and you need to keep at it. It doesn’t happen overnight.
